The cover picture originally drew me to the book. I couldn't figure out what kind of puppy that was. After reading the book, you understand why people that have dogs love and care for them so much. The adventures the writer has with his dogs is like life itself: fun, sad, scary, and joyful. The writer adds humor to the stories making it an entertaining and quick read.

I am a dog lover, particularly 'Goldies' - so I thought I'd take a chance on this book, as it caught my attention with the adorable picture of the Goldie Puppy on the cover. WHAT A FIND!!!!! I started to read 'Amazing Dog Stories' when I arrived home from work at about 6pm - and turned the last page at midnight!!!! What a great READ! The stories Mr. Wilk relates are truly captivating - made me wonder how all these adventures could befall one man/family, but in all fairness they did happen over the period of many years of his dog ownership. As I was reading, I almost felt as if I was there with him experiencing these HiJinx! At times I was laughing so hard I could barely take a breath (the 'Scooter' chapter), crying to the point I couldn't read through the tears ('Devastation' ), feeling pure joy ('Ten Puppies') and smiling to myself to the point when I was done reading my jaw hurt. BUY IT, YOU WILL THANK ME!!! Sign me up for 'Amazing Dog Stories 2' PLEASE!!!!!
